Reading Groups and Poetry Events

The Wilfred Owen Association was recently asked if we have any plans to host a poetry evening to discuss aspects of Owen’s work.  Unfortunately, due to other commitments, this isn’t something that we can arrange at the present time, or in the foreseeable future.

However, if you would like to promote a poetry group that focuses on Owen’s work, or the work of other war poets, or indeed any literature from/about WW1, please email us at woa@1914-18.co.uk and we can add details to the Events section of this website.

You can browse online directories for reading groups in your area and, in some cases, register your interests (unfortunately these directories don’t specify a genre).  Click on the links below:

There is some practical advice on setting up a reading group on the Devon County Council website.

Advice on running a reading group is also on the Reading Club website.

"The Reading Groups Book" by Jenny Hartley (Oxford University Press, 2002) provides a useful introduction to book groups.
