Chester Theatre Club is staging a dramatic reading of a selection of Wilfred Owen’s letters to his mother.
Wednesday 15th October at 8 pm and Sunday 19th October 7 pm
Most of Wilfred Owen's letters were written to his mother, who kept nearly every word produced by her first child. Susan Owen received 554 letters over the years, but it wasn't until 1956 that this mass of correspondence was discovered.
Owen's letters are detailed, thoughtful, poignant and reflect all his concerns over his short 25 year life, ranging from his earliest years living in Birkenhead, his time in Bordeaux working as an English tutor, to his final years as a soldier in the First World War.
Seating is limited (25) and will be allocated on a first come basis.
