Designed by sculptor Tim Turner, the statue was unveiled on the morning of 20th October, as part of the town's commemorative events in the final year of the centenary.
The life-size statue stands in Cae Glas Park and is adorned with the words of Owen, handwritten by local primary school children, along with five original poems, contributed by pupils from local schools.
